Edited by Dian Hanson and illustrated by Tom of Finland himself, this 704-page multilingual edition collects all 26 episodes in a single, substantial volume.

Tom began experimenting with an ongoing hero for his panel stories in 1965, trying out a blond named Vicky and a Tarzan-inspired Jack before settling on Kake in 1968. Clad in leather and a tight white T-shirt, Kake rides his motorcycle around the world in pursuit of liberated, mutually satisfying and explicit gay encounters. Tom lived out many of his most personal fantasies through the character, and Kake's international fans made him the template for what became known as the gay clone look of the 1970s.

Between 1968 and 1986, Tom published the Kake stories mostly as 20-page booklets, many of which became hard to find. This collection brings them together in one durable hardcover, making it a rewarding reference for longtime collectors and an inviting introduction for newcomers to Tom's bold, celebratory style.

Key Features

Complete collection of all 26 Kake episodes published between 1968 and 1986

Original artwork by Tom of Finland

Edited by Dian Hanson

Multilingual edition

Durable hardcover binding with 704 pages

Specifications

Author: Dian Hanson

Illustrator: Tom of Finland

Format: Hardcover

Page Count: 704 pages

Edition: Multilingual

Material: Paper

ISBN: 9783754403297

Whether displayed on a coffee table or added to an art library, Tom of Finland The Complete Kake Comics Hardcover Book returns readers to an era of carefree confidence, bold mustaches and unapologetic pride.
